Mary Lubko Center Recreation Program Instructor - Part-Time

Department: Mary Lubko Center
Location: Wheaton, IL

GENERAL PURPOSE

Responsible for the planning, organization and implementation of assigned classes and recreation programs.

REQUIRED EDUCATION, QUALIFICATIONS, KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

Minimum of high school diploma or equivalent with extensive knowledge in specific topic of instruction. Must have great problem solving, analytical, organizational, interpersonal; and written and verbal communication skills. Must be able to multi-task and work calmly and effectively under pressure.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  1. Plan, organize, and implement specific programs.
  2. Set up equipment and supplies.
  3. Interact with participants.
  4. Develop class syllabus if required.
  5. Provide a high quality of customer service in a professional manner to the internal customer that will facilitate team building and exceptional customer service to the external customer.
  6. Follow the Wheaton Park District policies, procedures, and guidelines.
  7. Proactively support the V.A.L.U.E.S. (integrity, fun, commitment, adaptability and growth, kindness, and service) on a daily basis.
  8. Maintain good safety awareness and follow all safety guidelines and procedures.

REQUIRED CERTIFICATIONS, LICENSES, ETC.

Must have and maintain: valid driver’s license with acceptable driving record; and CPR/AED certified or obtain within six (6) months of employment.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

Must be able to: frequently remain in a stationary position for long periods of time and repetitive use of hands/arms as when using a computer; and occasionally position ones’ self to move items such as program supplies, etc. up to 10 lbs.

ENVIRONMENTAL DEMANDS

Must be able to: handle all weather conditions while traveling between facilities, frequently in an office environment, occasionally encounter rain, snow, insects, dirt, dust and mold.

HOURS

Mornings, Monday or Tuesday

SALARY

$20.00 - $25.00 per hour
