Kidz Kingdom Attendant - Part-Time

Department: Recreation
Location: Wheaton, IL

GENERAL PURPOSE

This position is responsible for the care of children enrolled in the childcare service and Kidz Kingdom programs. This position will ensure a safe, clean, and fun environment.

REQUIRED EDUCATION, QUALIFICATIONS, KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

Must be at least 21 years old. Minimum of a high school diploma or GED. Must have previous childcare experience with the ability to communicate with children from ages two (2) years to seven (7) years of age required. Must have good organizational, interpersonal, and verbal communication skills.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  1. Setup equipment and supplies for daily use.
  2. Assist in planning, organizing, implementing daily activities, and other programming activities as assigned.
  3. Supervise, interact with, and apply age-appropriate guidance to children during activities during the entirety of one’s shift (when children are present) in a positive and enriching way.
  4. Greet and acknowledge members and guests entering Kidz Kingdom in a timely manner.
  5. Arrive on time for respective shifts to ensure that Kidz Kingdom opens on time and/or the program begins on time and is maintained as a safe environment for children.
  6. Maintain a safe and secure environment at all times.
  7. Clean and sanitize all equipment daily and report needed repairs promptly.
  8. Collect processing paperwork from parent/legal guardian.
  9. Plan and prep crafts with co-workers.
  10. Maintain communication with participants and parents.
  11. Obtain a list of medications, control and administer based on written consent.
  12. Observe behavior, assess appropriateness and apply behavior management techniques when needed.
  13. Provide a high quality of customer service in a professional manner to the internal customer that will facilitate team building and exceptional customer service to the external customer.

EQUIRED CERTIFICATIONS, LICENSES, ETC

Must have and maintain: a current CPR/AED certification for infant/child and certified as a Mandated Reporter for abused and neglected children.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

Must be able to: frequently move about the facility and position oneself to move children weighing up to 50 lbs.

ENVIRONMENTAL DEMANDS

This position will primarily work in an office environment will be exposed to dust, cleaning chemicals, and child illnesses.

HOURS

Tuesdays and Wednesdays from 8:15 am-1:00 pm

SALARY

$15.00 per hour

SALARY RANGE

Minimum - Midpoint - Maximum

$15.00 - $18.75 - $22.50
