Houseperson - Arrowhead Golf Club - Part-Time

Department: Arrowhead Banquet and Catering
Location: Wheaton, IL

GENERAL PURPOSE

This position is responsible for the set-up, breakdown, and storage of tables, chairs, etc. for functions and events by the deadline. This position is also responsible for general maintenance and cleanliness of all areas used by guests.

REQUIRED EDUCATION, QUALIFICATIONS, KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

Must have a minimum of two (2) years of experience in a club, banquet, facility, or hotel. Must be able to understand, speak, read, and write clearly in English. Must be able to work effectively as a team member. Must have good interpersonal, organization, and time management skills.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  1. Must be able to work the hours needed including early mornings, late nights, weekends, and holidays.
  2. Dependably come to scheduled work shift in a positive state of mind meeting dress and grooming standards for a professional appearance.
  3. Set up and take down tables, chairs, and buffet areas utilizing proper ergonomics and according to the BEOs before and after events including ceremonies.
  4. Store tables, chairs, etc. in an efficient and safe manner.
  5. Clean the associated areas of the building including restrooms before, during, and after the events to ensure that every guest experiences a clean environment for their event.
  6. Maintain a clean and sanitary work area to prevent food borne illness.
  7. Open, close, and secure banquet areas as needed.
  8. Notify Banquet Captain of any damage to tables, chairs, etc. as needed.
  9. Provide a high quality of customer service in a professional manner to the internal customer that will facilitate team building and exceptional customer service to the external customer.
  10. Follow the Wheaton Park District and Arrowhead policies, procedures, and guidelines.
  11. Proactively support the V.A.L.U.E.S. (integrity, fun, commitment, adaptability and growth, kindness, and service) on a daily basis.
  12. Maintain good safety awareness and follow all safety guidelines and procedures.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

Must be able to: continuously move about the facility and grasp with hand/eye coordination for setups; frequently position one's self while setting up events and; frequently move items such as tables, chairs, and stacked chairs weighing up 50 lbs. and over 50 lbs. with assistance.

ENVIRONMENTAL DEMANDS

Must be able to: occasionally move about on wet, slippery surfaces and occasionally work in room with loud music.

HOURS

12-15 hours per week

7 days a week - Sunday-Saturday (hours may vary)

SALARY

$15.00 - $18.00 per hour
