Cheerleading Instructor - Seasonal

GENERAL PURPOSE

Responsible for planning, organizing, and supervising assigned staff and programs.

REQUIRED EDUCATION, QUALIFICATIONS, KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

Minimum 14 years old with a strong background in cheerleading preferred.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  1. Plan, organize and supervise specific cheer programs.
  2. Set-up equipment and secure supplies.
  3. Serve as liaison between participants and District.
  4. Develop lesson plans/agendas.
  5. Maintain inventory of equipment and report damages that occur.
  6. Participate in activities and give demonstrations.
  7. Take attendance at every class.
  8. Provide a high quality of customer service in a professional manner to the internal customer that will facilitate team building and exceptional customer service to the external customer.
  9. Follow the Wheaton Park District policies, procedures, and guidelines.
  10. Proactively support the V.A.L.U.E.S. (integrity, fun, commitment, adaptability and growth, kindness, and service) on a daily basis.
  11. Organize, live, demonstrate, and implement the Character Counts program for coaches and parents.
  12. Maintain good safety awareness and follow all safety guidelines and procedures.

REQUIRED CERTIFICATIONS, LICENSES, ETC.

Must have and maintain: CPR/AED certified or obtained within one (1) year of employment. Be a “Mandated Reporter” for the Abused and Neglected Child Reporting Act.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

Must be able to: frequently move about the instructional area for long periods of time with occasional stationary periods, and position one’s self to instruct or assist participants, move across uneven ground and ascend/descend stairs/ladder, and move items such as various sports equipment, etc. weighing up to 25 lbs. and overhead and shoulders weighing up to 10 lbs.

ENVIRONMENTAL DEMANDS

Must be able to: occasionally be exposed to all weather conditions including biting and stinging insects and bugs and move over mud, wet, or slippery surfaces.

HOURS

Cheer Skills Camp -

Date: Saturday, September 9th from 9am - 2pm

Date: Sunday, December 10th from 12pm - 5pm

SALARY

$14.00 - $15.00 per hour DOQ
